The 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and Portuguese Republic
In the context of celebrating the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Portuguese Republic, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Tudor Ulianovschi and his Portuguese counterpart Augusto Santos Silva sent a joint congratulatory message on this occasion.

In the message is underlined that during the 25 years of diplomatic relations, the dialogue between the Republic of Moldova and Portuguese Republic has developed and deepened, being anchored on the friendship ties that unite the two states. The ministers noted with mutual satisfaction the successful integration of the important Moldovan community in Portugal, whose contribution to the rapprochement between the two nations is of major importance.

Officials have highlighted that the event is not only a moment of celebration, but also a good opportunity to express mutual commitment to expand and deepen the bilateral agenda in political, economic and cultural areas for the benefit of our peoples and the prosperity of both countries.

The high officials also stressed that the friendship and cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Portuguese Republic is not strictly limited to the bilateral level. They also extend to international organizations in a beneficial cooperation, particularly within the European Union, but also within the United Nations and other multilateral fora. Within the European Union, Portugal has supported and encouraged the continuation of the implementation of the reform agenda in Moldova. Officials noted that Moldova was the first Eastern Partnership country to benefit from a liberalized visa regime for the European Union, which is an important development in bringing the country closer to the European institutions.
