October 8th, Erevan – Republic of Moldova is a dynamic actor of the Francophonie in the Central and Eastern European region, deeply committed to the implementation of its objectives through projects dedicated to the promotion of French language, gender equality, cultural diversity, peace, democracy and human rights. The declaration was made by Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, at the 35th Ministerial Conference of the Francophonie which is being held during 8-9 October in the capital of Armenia, Erevan.

In his statement, the head of the Moldovan diplomacy has reaffirmed our country’s commitment to promote francophone heritage and French language, which is “the central pearl in the crown of identity of the Francophonie”, stressing the role of the Francophonie as a vector for universal values, cultural and linguistic diversity, respect of democracy and rule of law, human rights and fundamental freedoms, biodiversity and environment.

On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi has expressed appreciation to the members of the International Organization of the Francophonie (OIF) who have co-authored and supported the adoption of the UN General Assembly on “Complete and unconditional withdrawal of foreign military forces from the territory of the Republic of Moldova”, on June 22 in New York. “In a world threatened by conflict, Republic of Moldova fully supports the efforts of the International Organization of the Francophonie to promote peace, security and stability, reiterating its firm commitment to the peaceful settlement of crises and conflicts affecting the Francophone area, in accordance with the principles and objectives of the United Nations. The support provided to our country is a true proof of the solidarity of the Francophone family”, stated Minister Ulianovschi.

During the Ministerial meeting, taking place within the International Summit of the Francophonie, ministers of foreign affairs have adopted a number of decisions aimed at enhancing cooperation among francophone countries on peace-building, civic education and human rights, cultural participation, transfer of knowledge and research, neglected tropical diseases, promotion of gender equality and the participation of women in entrepreneurship activities.
